Sad Goodbye and Happy Hello

We are sad to say goodbye to Colin Spencer who was with Basil Tree Catering for 5 years. He made a great contribution to Basil Tree Catering and we will miss him. We know many of you will too! But at the same time we are excited to welcome our new Catering Manager Ruth Weening. EXCITING NEWS!

 For the past year Basil Tree Catering has been working with the Sustainable Business Network to make our company even more earth friendly!  It has been a fun and educational process as we find even more ways to be green.  In October we received our official certification as a Sustainable Business Leader.  To earn the SBLP certification we completed a rigorous process where we made measurable and significant changes in the areas of Energy Efficiency, Water Conservation, Waste Reduction, Transportation Management, Pollution Prevention, Local Purchasing and Local Food, and Sustainability Management.  We are excited to continue being leaders in the field of sustainability as we work to keep serving the community and protecting the environment.

Pie in the Sky

Each November for the past 18 years current and former Basil Tree employees have joined together with friends and family to create delicious pies from scratch.  We will donate our time and labor (as well as a record breaking 165pies!) to support Pie in the Sky, a fundraiser for Community Servings.  Community Servings is an organization that provides meals for people who are homebound due to illness.  If you would like to support the organization and buy a pie please visit their website at www.pieinthesky.org and place your order by November 19th. (Sorry, we cannot guarantee that you will get a Basil Tree pie.)
