Valerie (24 years at BT) Chef/Owner Val loves to develop recipes and re-organize the kitchen, anything to avoid sitting at her desk. Nevertheless, she mostly does personnel and computer related work.
Irene (24 years) Kitchen manager She has been with the company from day one. She somehow manages to juggle all food production, ordering ingredients, and supervising the kitchen staff all with a joke to keep us laughing and a hug for everyone.
Carlos (23 years) Chef Also a founding employee, he works day & night tirelessly to help Basil Tree run smoothly. We couldn’t do it without him.
Jesus (17 years) Chef/Delivery Driver ...And sushi man. Jesus always has a smile on his face to charm the customers and fellow staff.
Jupira (11 years) Pastry Chef She makes all your yummy desserts, singing a song, with just a little help from her friends.
Loira (6 years) Sandwich Queen We calculated that she makes an average of 149 sandwiches a day, almost single handedly.
Walter (6 years) Delivery Driver/ Prep Cook Early breakfasts are his specialty. He hates to be late so it works out perfectly.
Madalena (5 years) Prep Cook She is happy to do anything that needs to be done.
Colin (4 years) Customer Service Manager He's always friendly, never stressed and almost never makes a mistake. A green apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Stephanie (4 years) Assistant Baker & Word Processor Her playpen was a bread tray in the kitchen by her parent’s side. Now she is off to Washington & Lee University but still helps out.
Charlie (4 years) Delivery Driver/Prep Cook Charlie fills in as needed and is always happy to help in a pinch.
Rada (4 years) Accounts Manager Rada is always cheerful even after hours of processing credit cards.
Larissa (3 years) Assistant Sandwich Maker She works hard to keep up with her aunt Loira and still keeps smiling. She attends Elizabeth Grady School in addition to working at Basil Tree.
Tommy (2 years) Prep Cook/Delivery Driver He is learning a lot and willing to do almost anything except try new foods. He's a recent graduate of Medford High School.
Mindy (2 years) Customer Service Rep./Paper Goods ManagerMindy flawlessly takes your orders and packs your earth friendly paper goods.
